066. Rain

John had to keep reminding himself that Aeryn wasn't human.

That wasn't true.

Most of the time he knew—her voice, mannerisms, her reactions to him—or even to the rain today—they all made it hard to forget she was something else.

But the last two days had taught him that he didn't see any of his new friends as less than people. And Aeryn…

Sitting on the bed next to her, he couldn't help feeling her arm against his, couldn't help smelling the scent of rain on her skin. Almost in apology, he leaned over and kissed her.
