The Road from Rivendel to the Eastern Shores

By: Elyse Robinette

As morning came they left unseen

The ring was going south

Last but not least was Legolas with his eyes so keen

Heading for the fiery mouth

The mouth of Mount Doom

Fighting orcs with their awful moans

And Carahadras with his wrath

O'er hills and under mountains carved out of stone

There lies Moria, a difficult path

Moria - halls and Bridge of Kahazdun

Attacked by goblins with a cove troll tall

On the bridge Gandalf fights Durin's Fiery Bane

See the bridge break and fall

We loose Gandalf, oh the pain

We are at a loss

Fleeing to Lothlorien, the magical woods

It is here, Galadriel reigns

She gave to us cloaks with hoods

Now we leave the grassy terrain

Using boats, rowing down the Great River

Here we are at Amon Hen

I have yet a choice to make

We loose Boromir of the Men

I tell Sam, "Go back for safety's sake!"

But he refuses to break his promise

The Fellowship of the Ring has broken

Sam now says, "You'll be the number one poet yet Mr. Frodo."
