A/N: A letter from Laertes warning Ophelia of trouble afoot at Elsinore. Hope everyone enjoys!

Disclaimer: I am not Shakespeare. Makes me sad, too.

My Dearest Sister Ophelia,

I pray that this letter reaches you. I have heard many rumors of Elsinore, and am greatly distressed that you may be put to harm. I warn you. Beware. All is not as it seems. Watch yourself at all times, and be careful whom you put your trust in.

I have been given reason not to doubt the ill-fated courtship of you and the prince Hamlet. I beg you not to pursue this fancy of yours. It may only end in tragedy. Trouble is afoot in Denmark.

Fortinbras has been planning attack for many months now. The king is cold in his grave; the good queen has sought refuge with his drunken brother who now claims the throne. Keep in her favor, for it will offer you protection.

And watch Hamlet. He may appear witty and sharp, but inside of his handsome shell is turmoil. Do not bind yourself to his side. I doubt his mind will fall to peace until his father's name is avenged.

His mind is not right. He has fallen demented with grief. I fear he may prove dangerous with his care free demeanor. Claudius is no noble man. He will cheat and ravage until power is his. Hamlet could at any time reveal his intentions of revenge. When that time comes, do not be linked to him. Claudius shall seek out any man or woman in cahoots with his enemy.

Even dear Horatio holds dangers. It is widely known his friendship of the prince. It is too late for him. Do not appear involved with any associates of Hamlet. I warn you for your own safety. Please, heed my counsel. I pray you hold to the shadows and do not make a feature of yourself in the spotlight. You are my only remaining family, and I you. We must rely upon each other for our own safety.

Your Faithful Brother,

Laertes
