A/N: This is something I wrote a veryvery long time ago, some time in the middle of season 3, I'm pretty sure, and I recently found it in the depths of my old fanfiction folders, and edited it to make it worthy to post. Sorry it's so short, a lot of my stuff is, but I sincerely hope you enjoy it :)

"I think we should sleep together."

It was the last thing Robert Chase expected to hear from Cameron. He'd always been under the impression she'd been ashamed of the night they'd spent together, not just of the drugs, but of the fact that it had been him she'd slept with.

But then again... he'd be lying if he said she hadn't been on his mind ever since. It wasn't that he liked her, though he did like her, as a friend, as a coworker... But not... Well... Allison Cameron was an attractive woman. And like he'd told her, the sex hadn't sucked.

"You're the person I'm least likely to fall in love with."

He was taken aback despite himself. "What if I'm offended by your judgement?"

"Then you're not the guy I'm looking for."

Well, then. That was fine. Terrific. Casual, uncomplicated sex with a beautiful woman was what every guy wanted. Wasn't it?

He chased her down, his boots sweeping the falling snow into swirls. "Cameron." he said, his voice cutting through the cold morning air. She turned, raised an eyebrow, smiled that brilliant smile of hers. "My place?" he asked, grinning.

... ... ...

Later, Chase found himself watching her. She'd fallen asleep next to him, her back turned, her hair spread out on the pillow. He could smell her shampoo, something fruity, not floral. He hadn't intended to stare, just to check if she was awake, but her mouth was slightly open, her hand under her cheek, and she looked... peaceful. Innocent. He found himself mesmerized by her again, and he was surprised. This wasn't like him. Robert Chase could have any woman he wanted, and he didn't spend time watching them sleep. This was sex. Not love.

Love? Now where had that come from? He shook the thought and lay back down, shutting his eyes and getting under the covers. Cameron shifted, rolling unconsciously towards him, settling with her arm over his chest, her head on his shoulder. He smiled and placed a cheek against the top of her head.

It wasn't love.

But it was nice to have someone warm.
