Frozen Heart Warmed

Rukia stared blindly at the shower wall. Wondering when the heat of the steaming water would ever touch her soul. She stepped out of the shower and pulled on her towel and fuzzy robe. She was still like ice. She hurried out of the room and sneaked into Ichigo's closet. She felt a small bit warmer. Rukia heard Ichigo and Kon going off at each other on the other side of the closet. She smiled. She changed into the pajama's Ichigo had gotten her so she wouldn't have to worry about wearing his sister's PJ's.

Then Rukia opened the door and ground out roughly. "Will you two shut the hell up! I was trying to sleep!"

Ichigo looked up " Oh, I didn't realize you were already out of the shower. " No apology. Then, out of nowhere, she sneezed. Ichigo stared blankly at her. "Uh, Rukia are you okay?" He worried. After all, she was a soul she wasn't supposed to get sick. Rukia turned her head to the ground in embarrassment. "Here," he said " Get in my bed, it's probably warmer than that closet." She, surprised, looked up, and then just dropped out of the high end. Rukia staggered over and fell on his bed. Just a little warmer. Ichigo, then lay next to her and wrapped his arms around her.

She became very warm. Rukia's eyes popped open in surprise. ' No wonder he sleeps in T-shirts all the time' was all she could think. But her inside, her soul (AN: Gigia!), was still very cold. She turned over and stared at Ichigo, Kon asleep on his orange head. His face so much softer in sleep. He stirred, opening amber eyes slowly.

"What's up, Rukia?" he asked, sleepy voice filtering through the air. Worry returning to his handsome face. She smiled.

"Oh, I'm fine. Just go back to sleep," Her own soft whisper floating after. He did as she said. She thought for a minute. When she thought he was asleep, she voiced a thought small enough that only he could here. Of course, that is, if he was awake. "You're my angel, Ichigo Kurosaki." Rukia turned around and cuddled her back up against his chest.

Unbeknownst to her, he smiled.
