Thank you NaruIno Oneshot
An eight year old Yamanaka Ino was just leaving the ninja academy, though school had gotten out quite a while ago. She had been helping the teacher arrange the flowers, something that the young blonde was rather good at.
She was smiling to herself. It had been a great day up to that point. she had her favorite breakfast, did well on her exam, and had a wonderful lunch; everything was perfect. That is, until she looked over at the swing, shocking her to a sudden stop.
There sat a blond boy that was in her class – one of the troublemakers. Why hadn't he gone home yet?
The Yamanaka gathered her breathe and went over to him.
"Hi," she greeted. He looked up, glaring at her. She gulped. "Wh-why haven't you gone home yet?"
No answer.
"I'm sure your parents are worried sick about you," she continued.
Again, no answer.
"You should probably go home so—"
"I don't have a home!" he shouted at her. "I don't have parents! I don't have anyone waiting for me! Now, GO AWAY!"
Ino backed up a little. "I'm so sorry. That must be terrible."
He glared again. "Go away."
She ignored him and pulled out a bag from her coat pocket. "Here," she tossed it to him.
He caught it. "What is it?" His voice was edgy, not trusting.
"Homemade cookies," she smiled. "For you, so enjoy, okay?"
He looked at her warily.
"So…" she said. "I'm Yamanaka Ino. What's your name?"
"…Uzumaki Naruto."
She grinned. "Pleased to make your acquaintance!"
Naruto looked away. "You should leave."
"Why?" she asked.
"You have parents," he said. 'They're…probably worried about you."
"Oh, yeah." Ino began to run off. she turned, running in place for a moment. "See ya!" Then, she left.
Naruto looked at his lap, staring at the cookies Ino gave him. He tightened his hand around the bag as soft tears came to his eyes.
"Thank you…"
