Fate
The plane was falling from the sky
and spiraled towards the land
everyone said their prayers of hope
as it fell upon the sand.
Then some woke up and ventured out
and realized they'd survived
the island brought them all together
and forever changed their lives
A convict met a doctor
and wanted him so much
she loved to be around him
and smiled at his touch.
She didn't think that she was worthy
of the love he had to share
so she drew away and turned to someone
who didn't really care
A man who won the lottery
was stranded there as well
his past forever haunted him
though he didn't like to tell
A brother stolen from his sister
by a tragic act of fate
he wanted to say "I love you"
but he found it was too late
A child and his father
were separate for awhile
when the island brought the two together
the boy just had to smile.
He loved their time together
but when they made the raft
he burned their chance at rescue
so their life together would last
A man used to be addicted
to the drugs he had around
but the island helped him beat them
with the strength that he had found
A man bound to a wheelchair
awoke with quite a shock
when he realized that the island
had re-taught him how to walk
A mother had her child
on the island in the night
in the midst of tears and tragedy
the baby was the light
Although they know no English words
a wife now knows for sure
that she is loved and cared for
by the man that she adores
A woman on the island
who crashed there long ago
hopes to warn the others
of the danger that she knows
A confidence man who scavenges
taking away others joy
while he tries to forget the things
he heard when he was a boy
A doctor leads the others
while saving many lives
but it seems he gains his strength
from the woman by his side
A convict who is trying
to forget what's in her past
knows the way to freedom
is a love she knows will last
The doctor and the convict
share a bond as strong as gold
each feels the love between them
although neither one has told
The survivors lives have changed now
but they must pay the cost
for if they are not rescued
they'll stay forever lost.
