AN: First published work. Written Ten minutes ago, and then spoken into Google speech to text. All while at a family Easter gathering. Only Edited enough to be recognizable in it's meaning. Will edit when I get the time.
on a night long passed, cold and dreary,
I enter a tavern, body aching and mind weary.
There was a woman in a corner, tall and fair, A man in another, wearing a mysterious air
barkeep looked up from his task of wiping clean glasses
which let him ignore all the most stubborn among the masses.
He glances in my direction, so what'll it be
I gave him four coins one for an ale and 3 for him to leave
as the door closes behind him to me a rustling is heard
weapons are drawn, she a sword, he a dagger, quickly and without a word.
wryly chuckling to myself, arms held out wide
waiting for their weapons my willing flesh to divide
something inside me cries that this is unjust
but another quickly reminds it needs must as I fall to the ground blood pools around my head
I am happy happy simply to have saved the barkeep, that he too is not dead.
Enough blood has been shed a kingdom upended.
How fitting than, that with my blood it is ended.
