Prologue: Luke
| Third |
His name was Lucas Anderson, but his friends and colleagues called him Luke. On the outside he was just a normal guy, but when you dug deeper you'd wished you hadn't.
He was an animal. A vicious creature that would find no mercy in his cold, black heart.
No warmth has ever been in his life (not that he wanted it). And he liked it that way, not caring for others.
Luke walked into the main lab, where Dr. Pierce was waiting. Dr. Pierce had power over Luke, but not much. He was not the head of the organization, Commander Bourdelle was.
Or so they've been told.
Dr. James Pierce looked up at the tall, muscular man with brown shaggy hair, and dark brown eyes. Luke also had a five 'o clock shadow beginning which gave him an even more sketchy look. He didn't care to look like an animal, to look like a monster, because that's exactly what he was, and he liked it that way.
It struck fear into others, something he craved. It was his own high; his own addiction.
"What a pleasure it is for you to join me." The Doctor smiled, his British accent flowing through.
Luke rolled his eyes. He knew he was late, but he didn't care. He could be late everyday and no one would face him. They knew what would happen if they did.
"I was busy." Luke's rough voice answered, grimly.
"I see," James nodded.
"Good." Luke spat back.
Luke wasn't in the best of moods. He had been searching for a special someone for awhile now and he had come up blank, every single time. Which was very irritating, since he had always found what he wanted, no trouble at all.
"Touchy." Dr. Pierce smirked.
Dr. Pierce had always loved danger, which was why he got a job here. Well, that and Commander Bourdelle had almost forced him too. James had many degrees in many different areas. All science related. This, of course, put him in the position of the lead scientist.
"Do you have anything of use?" Luke growled, growing more annoyed by the second.
"Some of her papers from when she was here, that a stack of bodies, and witnesses to her great escape." Dr. Pierce said dramatically. He, and a few others (not to mention Luke, who kept his interest hidden) found her extremely fascinating, her case.
Especially the large black wolf that she had no control over.
Luke nodded, considering the information. Something about her was special, very special. She had been able to escape, which meant she was strong.
And Luke always loved a challenge.
