Prologue

"Applekit are you ok? Applekit!" the small gray tom, Thornpaw, called as he looked for his little sister "Applekit!" he begged Starclan that he would see her orange fur, that she would leap out to scare him, like she so often did. Nether came to pass. "I will find you Applekit," he sobbed as he turned to meet with the others in the search party "This I swear."

"This is the kit Ah told you about mam" the tom's gruff voice said

"Thank you, Dusk. Ah can handle it from here." a calm and kind voice answered

"As ye wish StoneTeller" With that the mean cat left the den

"Hello little one what is yer name?" the kit stuttered for a moment

"Applekit" The pale gray she cat nodded

"That is a beautiful name, Applekit. mah name is Fall of Mist, Ah'm the StoneTeller of the Tribe of Repeating Cries" the kit looked up, deep green eyes meeting dark blue

"Why am I here?"

"Because we found ye in a fox den, we rescued ye."

"Can I go home?"

"What is your tribe name?"

"Thunderclan."

"Then Ah'm afraid not. Ah don't even know of that tribe. But ye can stay and be mah kit"

"Ok…"

"Ma."
