Killing Time

"Trixie! Look out!"

A large sharp object whirled past her ear and missed her head. She surveyed her surroundings. Nothing was visible within a ten metre radius and the flame on Burpy's head illuminated the cavern they were in. Darkness. She swore that there was something eerie to it but she did not voice her suspicions.

"Thanks Eli!"

The Shane grinned at her sheepishly. His white teeth glimmered in the faint light. She crouched besides him and whispered, "Are you sure about this Eli?"

The boy shrugged, "Nah, but I believe my source is reliable."

There had been several reports of something scaring people away in Rock Lock cavern and obviously the responsibility was placed on the Shane Gang to solve the mystery.

"Me too."

A scurrying movement on their left side.

"Did you hear that?" The redhead inquired, glancing nervously in all directions.

She desperately wanted to get the job done and leave. A stench wafted into their nostrils and they coughed furiously in an attempt to clear their tracheas. Kord and Pronto had gone to the mall to replenish their supplies for their hideout. Something wet and furry crawled on her skin.

"AHHH!" Trixie brushed the thing off and scrambled away.

"What is it?!"

She remained silent, evidently recovering from her shock. Nothing had ever freaked her out like this cavern. Something wasn't right.

There were suppressed chuckles coming from….

"Eli!" She shouted at him, her voice echoing throughout the cavern.

As if on cue, he burst into fits of laughter. Even Burpy was laughing.

He gasped, "I can't take this anymore. "

Trixie placed her hands on her hips and glared at him. Eli slugged his Phosphoro slug, Glimmer above their heads. A bright light illuminated the cavern and most of the darkness.

A cave troll waved at her and stuttered in the middle of laughing, "You should have seen the look on your face."

Eli shook her camera in front of her eyes, "We got the whole thing on camera, although we had to use infrared to film it. Priceless.."

"Even I, Pronto, will never be scared of a silly, little… AAAAAAAHH!" He sprinted out of the cavern as if all the Darkbains were chasing him.

"Relaaax Pronto! It's just a spider!" Eli called after their tracker but to no avail.

Trixie glared at Kord who shrugged his shoulders. "It wasn't my idea. He suggested it."

"Come on Trix. There is nothing to do and anyway, it's April Fool's day. Well, it's the only day people can legally prank people." He explained.

Revenge is sweet, Eli Shane! The redhead rolled her eyes and silently vowed payback.

Kord and Eli followed her out of the cave. She did not blame them. Ever since Doctor Blakk was banished to the Deep Caverns, there had been a few issues that needed the Shane Gang's attention. Otherwise, Slugterra was peaceful. Well, too peaceful for any vigilantes' taste.

STSTSTSTSTSST

"So that's what the Shane Gang has been up to, huh Loki?" A blond teen wearing a brown and yellow attire whispered to his best slug.

Loki snickered.

Twist brushed his hair back, "Well, I have some ideas of my own for this so-called April Fools." He smirked before disintegrating into a burst of red, black and pink colours.

Happy April Fools' Day! This was meant to be a prank but then the ideas started flowing into my head. Sorry for the crappy chapter.

Gah! I should probably update those other fics.. Oh well.. Duty calls..
