"Abe."

Abraham paused in his eating of the watermelon and glanced over. It was Collie Parker, shirtless and glowing with sweat. Abraham wiped watermelon juice off of his mouth with the back of his hand. "What? I thought you got one," Abraham said, noticing that Parker was watermelon-less.

"I did, but I gave some to Garraty. Share," Parker said, reaching for Abraham's piece. Abraham held it out of reach. "Fuck, Abe, be nice."

"No – hey! Watch it, you'll get a warning," Abraham said, speeding up a little as Parker reached for his watermelon again. "Maybe you shouldn't have given yours away."

"Shut up," Parker said impatiently. "Aren't we friends?"

"Real friends don't steal your watermelon," Abraham said, grinning at Parker and accidentally letting his arm drop. With a deft preciseness, Parker plucked the watermelon out of Abraham's hands and took a bite out of it. "Damn it, Parker."

"What're you gonna do about?"

"Fuck you," Abraham muttered, grabbing the watermelon back. Parker smirked.

"Sorry, Abe, too many warnings to do-"

"Oh my god," Abraham sighed, finishing off the watermelon and tossing the rind to the crowd. "Oh my fucking god, Parker."

Parker tossed an arm around his shoulders and the two kept walking. It was a bit awkward, seeing as Abraham was an inch or so taller than Parker, but they made it work. They managed to stay above the cutoff speed somehow, and Abraham was content to just walk, close to someone he liked.
