A/N: This story is intended as a one-shot, I'm really bad at writing sequels..
Summary: Some thoughts and a resolution of sorts.
Mother-ish
Some people think that, because I'm not a mother myself, I can't understand the love for a child, or deep love at all. They think I do not or cannot understand motherhood. I think those people are wrong. I admit, I have not experienced labor; it is possible I don't understand the connection between mother and child completely, but still, I'm woman. And I have woman-ish, mother-ish feelings, and I have my moments.
Sometimes I (day)dream something is growing inside of me, inside my womb. Subconsciously I bring my hand up to my belly, always to find it flat. That doesn't matter though (who am I kidding!), a girl can dream.
Yesterday Harm caught me during one of those moments. I'm not sure how long he has watched me, but he brought me out of my reveries and back to reality, and how!
"When is it time?"
"I'm sorry?"
"When is it time?"
"I'm not pregnant or anything! You would've known!"
Totally wrong answer, or so I found out.
"I know that, Sarah…" (shivers running up and down my spine!) "That wasn't what I was asking. I'm talking about the baby-deal."
"Oh. What about it?"
I must've looked very stupid, but I really didn't have a clue!
"Now that I 'caught' you looking so longingly with a hand on your tummy, I was just wondering when it is time to fulfill our baby-deal."
Apparently, he had to spell it out for me.
"Oh.. Roughly, a year and a half."
"You involved at the moment?"
"No. you would know, by the way."
"Me neither… Care to fulfill that deal of ours a year and a half early?"
"I'm sorry… Did you just ask what I think you asked?"
"Yes."
"Harm! That's impossible, all the regs and…"
"Sarah, just tell me if you want to."
"I… Yes I want to."
