Heyy guys this is the new and improved story of "Love lost at Sea" hope it's better!
I decided to start the story when there in year 8 and Katniss is Peeta's next door Neighbour.
I have changed the story line alot but there are some parts that are still the same. soo... Enjoy!
Peeta's POV:
*RING*
"Finally I thought school would never end" I say while opening my locker.
"Yeah, I know right" he says while looking at this girl, Annabelle I think?
"Hey Peeta, do you believe in love at first sight?" Finnick says while shutting his locker.
"Um not really I think it's pretty silly to just take one look at some one and instantly fall in love" I say emphasizing on love.
"God, she's so beautiful" he thinks out loud.
"Hey I got an idea Finn, maybe you should talk to her instead of following her like an obsessive crazy stalker then maybe she might notice you?" I say.
"I do not stalk her!" he shouts.
"Whatever floats your goat" I say. Then suddenly I come up with an idea.
"Okay then I'll give you 10 bucks if go up to her, ask her on a date and get a photo together" I say.
"Deal, but what if she says no?" he says looking terrified.
"Aw the great and charming Finnick Odair is afraid of getting rejected now is he?" I say then pout.
"Shut up" he says then hits me on the shoulder.
"Good luck you might need it" I say while he walks off.
"Whatever Pete. Text you later" he says while walking towards her.
I grab my stuff and head home. YES! Today's Wednesday dad promised me he'll teach me how to frost the cakes! I walk into the bakery and see my dad kneading some dough.
"Hey dad, want some help?" I ask.
"Nah, but I do need you to do something else" he says.
"Sure, what is it?" I say.
"I want you to greet the next door neighbours and bring them some cheese buns that I made earlier" he says handing me a basket.
"Ugh fine but then you have to teach me how to frost. Just like you promised, remember?" I say.
"Yes I remember, now go!" he says.
I walk outside and pass the big truck that's unloading there furniture then I knock on the front door, no one answers so I start to look around the front yard. About a minute later I hear someone scream and the front door opens.
"Hi, im Peeta your next door neighbour" I say politely.
"Hi Peeta, im Mrs Everdeen, would you like to come inside?" she says.
"Okay" I say.
We walk into the kitchen and I hand her the basket.
"My father made you some cheese buns" I say.
"Yummy, cheese buns" says a little girl running into the kitchen.
"Peeta this is my youngest daughter prim" she says.
"Hi prim" I say.
"Hi Peeta" she says then grabs a bunch of cheese buns and runs off.
"Sorry about her, so where are your parents?" she says.
"Oh my father apologises for not being here but he is working at the bakery and it's kind of packed" I say trying my best to avoid my mother.
"What about your mum?" she asks.
"Um she's" I pause for a second then say "She passed away" I stumble.
"Oh, im sorry for your loss" she says.
"Sorry I have to go now my dad would want me back now, it was nice meeting you though" I say putting on a fake Smile.
I burst out the door and Run to the only place I feel safe other than home, the meadow. I burst into tears as I remember the horrid day when I accidently killed my own mother.
Katniss will be coming in the next chapter, dont worry!
