Jack has wanted to be a pokemon trainer since he was a baby (or atleast that's what his dad tells him, he doesn't remember much of when he was little)
Why didn't Jack mention his mom, it because he never met her. All his dad ever told him was that when he was born she died (sad isn't it)... it still doesn't explain why the kids bullied him, maybe it was because of his cat ears and tail (figure out which pokemon he has dna from).
But the verbal and physical abuse didn't stop him from having fun!, sometimes after school he would go out to the woods and spent some time with the wild pokemon there.
flashback
"This is nice... being in the woods, this makes me sound older than what I actually am" said Jack
Then a rattata crawled up to Jack
"Oh, do you want a berry?" He asked the rattata
The rattata nodded, then Jack gave him an oran berry and the rattata happily ate it
Flashback end
that was one of the times he went into the woods, there were many more but there are too many to list! Each time he went there be slowly learned how to speak pokemon
Now it was his birthday and the day he could get a pokemon, well catch the one his dad gave him as an egg... jack didn't know what would hatch (only I know and the clue is in the title), but whatever hatched out of that egg would be his starter Pokemon!
Then it was the next day and Jack was walking to professor oak's lab to get his pokedex and some pokeballs
"I wonder when this egg is going to hatch?" He asked himself when be got to the entrance "is anyone here?"
"Ah yes, Jack was it?" Oak said
"Yeah" said Jack trying to hold back his excitement
Oak handed over a blue pokedex (a request from jack), and 5 pokeballs
"Are you going to choose a starter?" Oak asked
"Nah, I'm waiting for this egg to hatch" said Jack as some cracks started to appear on the egg "and it's already hatching!"
As the egg finally stopped glowing a pichu came out
"Hello" said Jack to the pichu before scanning it
Pichu, the tiny mouse pokemon
This pichu is female and knows the moves thunder shock, Disarming voice, and thunder punch
"good moveset for a newborn pichu" he said
Now Jack was on route 1 to register for the pokemon league in viridian city when he heard someone scream, he ran towards the sound and found a girl about to be attacked by a gyrados!
"Pichu, use thunder shock at that gyrados!" Jack yelled
"Pi!"
Pichu charged electricity and shot towards the gyrados and launched the attack damaging the gyrados alot, but not enough for it to faint (although it was knocked back quite a bit)
"Are you ok?" Jack asked, then the gyrados started to launch another attack! Jack told pichu to use thunder punch, now that knocked gyrados out
"Are you ok?" He asked again "she must be in shock"
Jack:who was that?
Who?
Jack:the one with the red hair

Jack:oh and the quality of this chapter is decent for once
