A/N
He-he my first Guardian's of the Galaxy story as I really like that movie as well as Rocket so this little story is for him, and if you like it, I have a bigger idea for him that I have wanted to write for a long while.
So in this one shot, it's a late night in Tne Milano and Rocket can't sleep so Broot helps out.

It was late night in the Milano the ship of the Guardians of the Galaxy and while Drax, Gimorra and Starlord were asleep, a certain raccoon was still up and awake plus was thinking on things like when Galactus had tried to eat a planet they'd been helping which involved the Avengers so sighed drinking but knew things were changing since they had all met in prison that fateful day, listening to a certain mix tape on headphones hoping Starlord didn't find out knowing how he felt about it.
He was unaware that somebody else was up too, Groot but Rocket smirked feeling a branch like hand take off the headphones which irked him
"Hey, who in that right mind, dares to do that!" the raccoon yelled but stopped seeing Groot had making him relax as he and Groot were buddies.
"I am Groot!" the treelike creature said smirking making Rocket chuckle wondering what his friend and fellow Guardian was up to, since he and Groot were always like this when they weren't doing missions but guessed Groot didn't want to sleep either or sensed his aura being part of nature.
"I don't blame ya, sometimes being by yourself in this ship gets lonely plus the others find it easy to sleep plus I did hit the bar at that last planet." Rocket said scratching his chin making Groot smile wide like a child because he cared about Rocket.
He knew Starlord would want them alert in case there were missions and they needed Rocket's sharp shooting skills and he needed rest knowing sometimes Rocket had trouble sleeping because of the past seeing Rocket on his lap making the tree like creature stunned but singing of sorts while patting and stroking Rocket gently, careful not to hurt him but friends never did that to each other.
He heard yawns from his friend realising what he was doing was working seeing him drift off but Groot was putting Rocket back in Tne chair he had been in leaving him be and going to rest but Star,ord had gotten up to use the bathroom wondering what Groot was doing up and after seeing a sleeping Rocket underdtood.
"Hm good job Groot, since we need him alert in case we have missions but you guys are friends right?" said.
"I am Groot." He replied going to bed
