The Path to Stardom

Little did her parents know, the day she was born, a star emerged. From a young age, Marley loved to sing. It was her passion, and she was quite good at it too. She sang everywhere she went, and has done it since she was able to talk. She had a great voice, it was deep, but strong and she could belt notes if she wanted to. The only problem was, she didn't believe she was a star, or that she had talent. Sure, she knew she could sing, but she didn't think she was anything special, until high school.

High school was when she joined the glee club, or the choir. It wasn't a very popular club, and the kids were often ridiculed, but she didn't care. It had to do with singing which was something she loved, so she would do it. And it wasn't like she wasn't used to bullying anyway, she was bullied at her other school because her mom was overweight. She was used to it, it was apart of her life.

The Glee Club was great, it gave her an outlet, a way to express her emotions. All of them, the good, the bad, and the ugly, it didn't matter who she was, as long as she could sing. Not only was the singing part of it great, but the people were amazing. Everyone was in the same boat, so everyone understood each other, no explanations were needed, everyone just understood.

She felt that if she had the New Directions, she could survive. She could survive the bullying and the teasing, and the schoolwork. She could do anything, because she had a family and a support system of people who always had her back. Finally for once in her life, she was happy.

It was during one of her many Glee sessions when she realized that she wanted to pursue music. It was the one and only thing that made her happy, and made her forget about all of the bad things in her life. She had tried so many different things, and none of them made her feel the way music did. So when she graduated from high school, she applied to NYADA, one of the best music schools in the country, and it was located in New York City,

To her surprise, she was accepted. She excelled while she was there, earning excellent grades in all of her classes. She was having the time of her life, she finally felt like she truly fit in somewhere. Even more then she felt this with Glee, she felt it at NYADA, where everyone was passionate about music like her, and although it was competitive, people still understood her, and she made some lifelong friends while she was there.

Unknowing to her at the time, the moment she signed her name on that audition sheet for the New Directions, she took the first few steps in her path to stardom.
