CHAPTER 1

I found myself on the concrete floor, barely feeling anything at all. As I slowly got up, I noticed destruction everywhere I looked; buildings were destroyed, cars were turned over and bent out of shape. It's kind of like one of those scenes you see in post-apocalyptic movies or video games. As for me, I was doing much worse. My right eye vision was blurry and I had a nose bleed. (Mmm, salty.) I had an ugly gash on my left arm, and I couldn't feel my left leg. After getting up, a few questions went through my head, (1) What the hell happened to this city? And (2) Is anyone alive? Well, my second question was answered, as a lot of military tanks and artillery surrounded me. The men jumped out and tackled me down.

"Stay down, bastard!" one yelled.

"We will shoot and blast your brains out if we have to." The other screamed. All of the men were carrying shotguns and sub-machine guns. I was scared as hell. Finally, they dragged me along the cold, hard ground and threw me in an armored truck. What have I done?

I was told they were driving me to some high-security prison.

"No one ever escapes, and all who have tried, failed miserably. Most ended up dead, others had to live their lives with a leg and an arm." The driver told me. I got goosebumps just thinking about living life with an arm and a leg. I could never beat my collection of games, and I couldn't walk a single block without being laughed at. I feel bad for the poor sucker that does lose their legs and arms. So, we arrived at the prison, and I was told I would stay here for 20 years. I might rot before 20 years or get pounded to pieces by those inmates, THEY'RE HUGE! Anyway, I was introduced to my cell; I would be there all alone for the rest of my life. While in my cell, I thinking of maybe writing a novel.

"Maybe it should be called 'The Life I Never Knew I Had.' Now all I need is a story…" The sound of helicopters ruined my train of thought. "Oh great, more huge inmates." I said not very excitingly. All of a sudden, men in black armor busted threw the wall, carrying long, futuristic rifles. I freaked out like hell! They were coming to kill us all. I was horribly wrong, as one of these guys pulled a lever and soon, my gate was unlocked. They didn't want to kill us, I thought. They were coming for me. The guy that pulled the switch charged at me. Then he fell down, as if he tripped on a bug or something. But he didn't, someone had shot him. I looked and saw a woman hedgehog, with black fur, and hair combed down. She came up to me, in a pretty bad mood.

"Get out of here!" she screamed.

"I'm sorry? What's going-."

"No questions. Follow me."
