A/N: God, I miss the easy banter and them not lying to each other…I doubt I'm alone in this.

Aftermath
Nothing ever goes the way they plan anymore. So there are more wounds, less banter. They drive for miles without stopping. Filling up on caffeine instead of sleep. Bobby calls; asks if everything's alright again. Dean tells him 'yeah'. Sam doesn't even glance his way when Dean chucks the phone out the car window. They go from job to job, never fully trusting each other. Sam leaves more frequently; gone for longer periods of time. No longer hiding his meetings with Ruby from Dean. And then – he doesn't come back at all. Dean flavours his coffee with his tears.
