I am just as a mystery as everyone else, aren't I?

Authors note: This is my first post and I am thoroughly nervous but please do give me your sincere remarks. Good or bad, I will accept it with whole heartedly and try my very best to improve it and make it up to you guys. So please do not give up on me!
Chapter 1
I walk through the crowd, my eyes focussed and my face determined. I was two steps away from my destination when the last tiny ray of hope was snatched away from me too. Tears streamed down my cheeks as my chest heaved up and down. I had lost the battle. My looks had disappointed me this time too.
I witnessed my best friends propose to each other. Kaoru, who I have I loved since I could remember was in love with my best friend Akane. It is the ugliest feeling in the world when you are forced to admit somewhere in your heart that they do look good together and wish that the one next to him is not her but you. I was no different but I had to be a sport and accept it. I wiped my straying tears and forced a smile.
"CONGRATS guys!" I screamed.
This sent them jumping in the mid-air. Their cheeks turned the deepest red while I chuckled. Akane shot me a scolding look which I shrugged off. I grinned like fool. Then again wasn't I already a fool? I walked to Kaoru and pulled his back to me for the shortest while before pushing him to Akane. Before they could say anything, I gave them a two finger salute and walked away leaving them behind, forever. I'm not brave, I know.
My phone rang. I checked my caller id. It was the vice president of the council. Time to keep character in check, Yu morinozuka.
