Inborn Animosity

"So why did you drag me into this empty corridor, Harry?"

The black-haired teen was looking around, making sure they were alone, before focusing on his sister, the redhead with her arms crossed and an annoyed look in her bright green eyes, so similiar to his own and their mother's.

"If you are not going to say anything, I do have homework to do with Theo and Blai..."

"I don't want you to hang out with them anymore." he blurted out, grasping onto Emma's sweater (it was deep into winter, after all), so much like his own yet not. For the red linings were replaced with green ones... their differences didn't end there. "I know you consider them your friends but they are the children of Death Eaters ... maybe ones themselves! ... and they wouldn't hesistate to hurt you!"

"And here I was thinking that at least my brother isn't prejudiced." Emma spat, struggling out of his hold and managing to free herself. "You don't know them - you didn't even try to do so. You just sucked up Ron Weasley's inborn animosity when it comes to Slytherins." she looked amused. "Their families aren't in league with Voldemort anymore, they haven't been for decades. Theo and Blai wouldn't lie to me as my best friends and I trust them. Maybe you should learn to trust your sister, too, Harry."

"Emma..." Harry began but she cut across him.

"Or maybe you should just hate me too since I am a 'stinking Slytherin' too." the green-eyed redheaded Slytherin continued. "Oh, and Theo and I are actually dating. He even plans to propose to me once we graduate from Hogwarts. Thought you would like to know. Now, if you excuse me, we do have some Transfiguration homework to do... see you later... or not..." with that being said, she walked away before Harry could even say anything.

"Did I mess up?" he whispered to himself in the now empty hallway.

So, did I shock you? I bet at least half of you thought that Emma would be just another Gryffindor ;)
