Hogwarts was always cold around Halloween, the breeze harsh on her face but she paid it no mind. It was hard to break habits, especially one she'd had since she was a firstie. She could never drag herself inside after being cooped up in the castle all day and then be confined to the dungeons of Hogwarts all night, so she sat near the black lake, hidden from view with her back resting against the only tree with leaves, and pulled her well-loved cardigan tighter, her legs closer to her body, and rested her head on her knees.
The castle was loud no matter where you went, and the peace and quiet the lake brought her always seemed to put her in a good mood.
She watched as the lake rippled, giant black tentacles surfacing every once in a while before turning to pick up the book she'd brought with her and start reading.
It must have been a few hours since she'd sat down, for the next time she'd looked up, the sky was beginning to darken and the lights from the castle could be seen even from where she was.
There was a rustle of trees, the sound of leaves being stepped on and twigs snapping behind her, someone coming closer by the second.
"Flora!" The voice sounded from behind, heavy breathing following. "I've been looking for you!"
She looked behind her, amusement coursing through her body. "Iris, Love, I've sat in this very spot, daily, at the same time, since the first year. Why did you not look here first?" She asked as she stood up, handing her book to her girlfriend and giving her a quick kiss on the lips before brushing off what she could from the back of her skirt.
She smiled, quirking a brow as her girlfriend pouted. "Ya ya, come on you prat, dinner starts in a few minutes."
Flora wrapped her hand around her girlfriend's, dragging her in for another kiss. "Love you," she intoned.
"Love you too, Flora," Iris said, smiling softly.
