Victoria has won the 'Everyday Heroes' contest, allowing her to fly to San Francisco to see her artwork hung on a wall for all to see. She went with principal Wells, and while he was stuffing his face with seafood, Victoria got a call from Nathan.
"V-Victoria there's a-a tornado and I-I don't know if I'll make it out—"
"Wait, Nathan! What's- I- where are you?!"
"At the lighthouse and I don't think—" He was cut off, and what followed sounded loud. It was a crushing sound, like concrete, and then all Victoria could hear was static.
"No! I have to—"
Her trip was nearly over, anyway, so maybe Principle Wells wouldn't mind if she caught the next flight early.
-.-.-.-.-.-
Oh god. Oh god,
Oh god, oh god,
Oh god.
There were bodies everywhere. For Victoria, seeing her friends- or- her classmates, it was terrifying. She doesn't know if most could be considered friends, but maybe given time and a less bitchy attitude, possibly.
But it's too late now.
They're all dead.
Nothing matters.
Arcadia Bay is in shambles, and she's still here.
She sees people like Dana, Trevor, Hayden, Taylor, Courtney, and people she wasn't really on good terms with or friends with like Warren, Juliet, Alyssa, Stella, Brooke, Chloe, and Max.
And she was rude to every one of them. But she's alive, and they're not.
Most people just laid there, or were burnt. Some could be electrocuted. To her, it looks like a gas fire had burnt down the Two Whales Diner. Victoria couldn't be too sure though. The ones that were different from the rest were Chloe and Max.
Chloe was probably hit in the head a little too hard with wood, judging by the amount of blood that poured from her head. She was mangled and cut up, and her clothes were stained a dark reddish black from blood. One of her arms was unidentifiable, it was bruised and burnt on nearly every surface. It was probably from the fire.
Max was half crushed by falling debris, waist down, and the horrifying blank expression she wore covered with blood was enough to give Victoria nightmares for years upon years. Blood seeped out from under the broken piece of beige, now grey and reddish, wall. Max and Chloe looked like they were on a mission to leave the town, only to find their horrible fate in the center of a road.
What an amazing way to go out.
They had so much to live for.
So. Much.
She forgot, she has to find her best friend.
"Nathan, where's Nathan?!" She spoke to no one, looking around frantically. Then she remembered, he said he was at the lighthouse.
Upon her arrival, she saw that the lighthouse was hit, and Nathan? He was under the part that broke off.
She spoke with anger, sadness, confusion, and frustration, all within one line.
"What am I going to do now?"
She stayed sobbing for god knows how long, wishing she could apologize to each and every one of those people down there.
