I do not own The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee nor do I own Doctor Who. I was just recently in Putnam and was Olive so came up with this story plot so I decided to write it down.

It had been five years since Olive Ostrovsky had been in the 25th AnnualPutnam County Bee. She still talked to all the friends she had made from the bee. Her mother eventually came back from India only to leave again to Africa to help refugees. Her father was still the same working all the time and when he did come home he would yell at her until she cried and then he would slap her across the face. She wished for an escape and she had that, spelling. It was the only thing that made her feel special. Even though she lost the 25th annual Putnam County Spelling Bee she knew that it indeed made her special. She had found a new peace inside her and she learned to accept the life she was given.
She kept in touch with the friends that she made from the bee. She heard about Marcy's not living up to expectations and how happy she was, Leaf's adventures, Logainne's political aspirations and how she kept trying to win the bee, she hadn't heard much from Chip, and talked to Barfee the most. Even the adults, she heard all about Miss Peretti's travels and Mitch Mahoney's helping people. She told them all that she was fine and missed them but after years past they didn't seem to have as much time to talk especially Barfee. She felt lonely. Until one fateful day.
She was sitting in her room reading the latest book she got from the library when she heard a strange noise. It was coming from outside, she ran to the window, she could see something materializing. She ran down the stairs to the back door. When she saw a blue telephone box. A man stepped out. "Where and when am I?" The man asked. He was tall with brown hair a tweed suit jacket. He had a bow tie.
"Well, your in my back yard and the year is 2012," Olive told the strange man. "My name's Olive. What's yours?"
"Olive, that's one of my favorite fruits! I'm the Doctor," the strange man answered. Olive was taken aback by the man's knowledge of her name's origin and his own name.
"Doctor. Isn't that more of a title?" Olive asked.
"Well, I guess it is but it's my name," the Doctor answered.
"Alright, so what are you, I mean, you're not of this world if you and your blue box can just appear."
"Yes, I am 'not of this world'. I'm a Time Lord and you are very inquisitive," the Doctor answered. "I can also travel through time and space," he smiled at her mischievously, "and I have room for one more."
Olive thought it over she didn't know this man but then again she felt a kinship to him. "Alright," she answered tentatively, "let me leave a note for my dad not that he'll care he hardly comes home."
The doctor saw the sadness in the girl's eyes and knew that this was the girl he wanted for his new companion. He remember Amy and River's words 'never travel alone' and this girl looked like she needed a friend. The doctor smiled again, "Yeah, be fast there are so many places I want to take you."
"Would I need to bring anything else? Like clothes or anything?"
"If you would like, I have a very large library and I do have a large closet filled with clothes," the Doctor answered.
Olive ran through her house to an uncertain future and grabbed her well-worn dictionary. Wrote a note to her father to let him know that she would be gone not sure how long and then went back to the strange man not sure who he was or even who her herself was but knew she was going to find out very soon.
