Naruto explains why he will go so far for Sasuke's sake. The reason is surprisingly quite simple.

Since ones judgment is often off, when the mind becomes weak.

And when at last, we lay; side by side as we die.

With the only question on your lips, being "Why..."

When you ask, "Must it come to this, in the very end...?"

I'll turn to you saying, " It is because, you are my friend."
