On James Potter's fifth birthday, his parents take him somewhere for a surprise. But nobody suspected that the people he would meet would ever become so important in his life... No-one suspected that James would ever meet them again. Did they?

One cheerful morning, James Potter woke early, listening to the sound of birds chirping happily in the blossoming cherry tree which rested upon his window ledge. James smiled, and then, realising the days significance, grinned, and almost started laughing. He had almost forgotten, but today was an incredibly important day - his fifth birthday!

He threw the covers off himself excitedly; they landed ungracefully in a heap on the threadbare carpet - but James didn't care. Quickly leaping off his springy, luxurious mattress, he sprinted as fast as he could to his Mother and Father's room, clambered up onto their bed, and began frantically jumping up and down, attempting to wake them. James' Dad, Charlus Potter, understood what was going on immediately. He chuckled to himself, and, pulling his son closer, began tickling him. The five year old began to laugh loudly, squirming and frantically trying to get away from his Dad - succeeding, but waking up his sleepy Mum in the process.

'Mum, Dad, it's my birthday! I'm five, I've just turned FIVE!' James squealed ecstatically to his parents.

His Mum, Dorea, couldn't help smiling at her son's excitement. 'Yes honey, but the time just turned five too, and it's a bit early for us to wake up.'

'But I'm FIVE!' James shouted gleefully as his parents laughed.

'OK James, we get it! Happy Birthday, son!' His Dad chuckled at James, while his Mum hugged and kissed him. James squirmed away -

'Mum! Ew!'

'Jamie, do you remember what's happening today?' James' Mum asked the five year old, grinning as her son looked up with a glint in his eye.

James didn't waste anytime answering her, both enthusiastically and loudly.

'Park! We're going to the park! When can we go Mum? When can we go?'

'We can go when we've had at least three more hours sleep, James,' Charlus Potter drowsily smiled, then yawned widely. 'Come on, back off to bed for a bit, kiddo.'
