A/N: This one shot is set a little after the prison bus escape in F&F 5. It's in Dom's point of view. It's his thoughts about being in Rio without Letty. Based on her line in F&F 4. Enjoy :)
Rio de Janeiro. Why of all places did it have to be Rio? The one place Letty always wanted to go. Now that she's gone, I can't go with her. I don't know if I can do this.
"What are you thinking so hard about, Dom?" Mia asked me as we drove to Rio.
"I'm just thinking about us going to Rio. It was the place she always wanted to go. Now she can't." I confessed without actually saying Letty's name.
"It's not your fault Letty died."
"It is, Mia. I'm the reason she went into the Braga thing in the first place. She wanted me to come home and I was too busy fucking around. She died because of me."
"Stop blaming yourself. You killed the guy who's to blame. You killed Fenix. Braga is in a high security prison. You avenged her."
"But Mi, she's never coming back." I said as my eyes started to sting from the onset of tears.
"She's not but we still have the memories of her. She won't be forgotten."
"When we get to Brasilia, I'm gonna stay there for awhile. You two need to get to Rio. Vince and his family live in the Favelas. Go stay with them and wait for me." I said, trying to change the subject.
"Dom, it's not smart to split up." Brian said.
"Well it's what we have to do. If you two enter the city alone, there's less of a risk of getting caught. If you enter with me, we could all go down. We're almost to Brasilia. You drop me off, I stay there for a few weeks. Then I'll get to Rio. It'll be fine."
"I don't like this but I know you're not gonna back down. So I'm just gonna say fine." Mia said.
"Thank you."
It took us a few more hours to get to Brasilia. They dropped me off like planned and said they were going straight to Rio. I knew they were lying but I thought what the hell. If they don't want to listen to me, that's their fault.
Brasilia was a beautiful city. I enjoyed it. I had been staying there for 3 weeks and I figured I should probably be on my way to Rio. I had talked to Vince about two weeks ago. He had said that Mia and Brian weren't there yet. It worried me but I knew they could take care of themselves. A week passed and V called again, this time saying that the couple had made it to his home. I was thankful and also a little sad because I knew it was show time. I couldn't avoid Rio for any longer.
It took me 16 hours to get to Rio. I made it in late last night.
It was show time.`
