LT Nikki Caetano was in the fight of her life. She had just come back from her run to find her worst nightmare standing in her living room. Pinned against the wall, struggling to get free, she came to a horrible realization. She was going to die. "Something wrong, Nikki?" Campbell Fulton, escaped prisoner and soon to be her murderer, asked with a psychopathic grin on his face. She saw the knife a millisecond before it plunged into her stomach. Fulton lifted his arm off her neck and let her body fall to the ground. Her boyfriend, former crewmate PO Peter Tomaszewski, chose this moment to walk into her apartment. Seeing Fulton standing over her with a knife in her stomach spurred him into a state of rage no one had seen before. Before Fulton could react, Buffer grabbed his head and twisted it, his neck giving a satisfying 'snap'. Fulton's limp body fell to the floor as Buffer rushed over to Nikki's side. He pressed down as hard as he could, trying to stop the bleeding. But it was no use. With her last breath, she pulled him down and kissed him. "I lo...love you." She whispered, and the light faded from her eyes. He gently rolled her onto her back and kissed her forehead. "I love you, too." He whispered.
