AU where instead of Marian coming back, Daniel does. How will this new revelation affect Regina, especially when she and Robin have decided to take a step forward in their relationship. But what of Daniel, he was Regina's first love and she cast the dark curse because of her grief for him. True love or Soulmate?

AN:Nothing belongs to me but the plot, rated T now but rating might change

There she sat, angled perfectly to face her soulmate. There knees touching, sending shivers down each others backs, she sends a rare smile to him, one she only reserves for Henry. His arm wraps around her waist, seeming to fit like two perfectly placed puzzle pieces.

Robin leans in giving her a lingering kiss on her cheek that made Regina's body fill with warmth. This was her happy ending she had waiting so long for and fought so hard for. She lazily turns back her attention to the young boy before her. Roland, just shy of fives years old, was a ball full of energy.

Nodding her head, letting him babble on about his favorite ice cream flavors, glancing to the side she sees Henry talking animatedly to his other mother, Regina had a well known hatred for Ms. Swan or rather Emma. No, it wasn't quite a hatred now, more like an intense disliking for Henry's blonde mother. Ms. Swan who always wore that worn out red leather jacket, Ms. Swan who always drove around in that yellow death trap, Ms. Swan who always had that pirate of hers following her like a lost puppy. As much as she wished she could send her back to Boston, she tolerated her for Henry.

Regina watched as Emma reached into her pocket taking out her phone, stepping outside of the dinner but not before giving her son a half-hearted apology. Henry being Henry just nodded before walking over to her.

Roland happily scooted across the padded booth, loving the older brother figure that Henry gave him. At this moment Regina swore she was the happiest she had been since Daniel. It was unconventional, yes but it was in a way her family.

Oh Daniel, she never really would get over him, come to terms with his death, yes, move on completely? Not a chance. Not with Snow being a living, breathing reminder of what she could of had if she just kept a secret like any ten-year-older should be able to do.

Not when Henry was there, him being named after her father who she had killed for her curse. Not when saying his full name stung just a bit, Daniel. She named her darling son after the two people she truly loved at the time. Robin's voice is the thing that pulls her out of her thoughts.

"Regina, M'lady?" His gentle voice with that accent that she was sure could make her melt with the right words. She just nods saying "I just never thought this could be mine"

He grins accenting those dimples, tucking a loose piece of her hair that had fallen out of place behind her ear. He used the affection to whisper into her ear "Get used to it, I cannot wait to simply ravish you" his breath is hot and does more than Regina is willing to admit to her body.

He bites her earlobe, tugging ever so lightly, this act alones makes Regina's eyes flood with lust. He draws away, a smirk playing on his lips, narrowing her eyes, Regina bites ever so subtly on her lower lip that was painted a tempting dark red.

A not so real cough from Henry reminds them of where they are, drawing them both from the moment. Blinking back the urge to grab Robin and whisk them away with her magic to someplace more private. Robin, who's arousal was more obvious just swallows harshly and askes Henry to show him his storybook. Regina's eyes travel down to his lap, her eyes getting a mischievous glint in them, her mouth curving into a smirk.

The resist to not laugh or ever snicker is hard, despite the public place and her title as Madam Mayor and as a more or less refined person, she lets her hand stroke him and give a slight squeeze to his upper thigh.

She stands up, telling them she has to speak to Tinkerbell, which isn't actually a lie, she was and did intend to speak to the damn fairy. Robin gets her back though for the earlier show of not-so-pure affection because she places a hand on her lower thigh and slides up to just under her ass where her skirt covers.

She gets out of the booth and sends Robin a warning glare, who just smiles like he wasn't dealing with an ever so slight problem just below his waist. Rolling her eyes feigning annoyance but secretly loving the playfulness she had with him.

Delivering a swift kiss to Henry's forehead she walks away, swaying her hips just a bit more than usual. God. What was happening to her? Robin had broke down quite a few walls and released a playfulness she hadn't had in forever.

She meets Tink at the counter who was ordering a glass of white wine, fancy for Granny's but she was later handed back a glass. Regina feeling energized orders, almost on impulse an appletini, ironic, nonetheless she had always loved the taste of apples.

"Cheers" She says to the fairy who nodded and clinked glasses with the queen. "How are things going with Robin?"

Regina takes of sip of her drink, enjoying the light buzz it gave her as she swallowed the liquid. "Great actually. Nothing has screwed over my happy ending quite yet. I never thanked you, for what you did." Tink just nods before saying "It's your happy ending, don't let anyone take it away from you"

She nods before briefly glancing at the table where they sat, before turning her attention back to the blonde in front of her. Tink's jaw dropped, shock written all over her face, the quiet chatter of voices throughout the dinner had come to a silence.

Despite the fact her back was to nearly everyone she could feel everyone's eyes on her. Regina chugs her drink, downing it all at once in an unladylike way, feeling the slight buzz she turns around, ready to weather whatever storm that was come.

No.

How.

It couldn't be.

This wasn't real.

He had to be real.

The dead are dead.

Was she dreaming.

People don't come back from the dead.

But they could. Because he was here. Living and breathing. He was alive.

The sound of glass hitting the floor snaps Regina from her disbelief, and that's when she realizes that was her glass that was now shattered in a million tiny pieces on the floor. "Daniel" It was a cracked whisper, but felt like a scream. Everyone was watching them but everything seemed to melt away.

"Oh my love" Daniel said, Regina felt a single tear find its way down her cheek, he was still her stable boy in every sense. He looked the same, bright blue eyes and soft brown hair. Just barely 19, just on the cusp of manhood, still having a boyish smile and appearance.

Once Regina lets it sink in that her first love is alive-and not in the way Whale tried to bring him back-she launches towards him. In seconds her arms hugged his neck, Daniel's toned arms managing to find their way to her waist.

She buries her face into the crook of his neck inhaling his comforting sent, she pulls away when the sent that hits her isn't that of forest that she has grown to adore. Her arms fall from his neck, the moment falling apart, Daniel meets her eyes, confusion apparent, his arms still around her waist but in a lazy manner, she cranes her neck to look behind her and notes the absence of Robin and Roland.

Her head snaps back to Daniel when she feels a lingering kiss on her cheek from her love. Her true love. She wanted more than anything to run after Robin, and explain this mess. No. It wasn't a mess. It was a gift. Her first love was back. She could find him later, give him some space for now. She needed to focus on Daniel, he was back. Tomorrow she could figure what this all meant. Till then she should thank fate, she got a second chance with her first love.

Second chance. God. That stung, Robin was supposed to be her second chance. And he was her soulmate, it was written in the stars. But if fate was drawing them together surely that would explain the reason why Daniel was back. Shaking way the thoughts and thrusting them as far away as she could, buried under all those walls she held close to her heart.

"Regina?" His voice bring her from her thoughts, she looks up at him. He was looking at her with that look, looking at her like she was his whole world. He leans in, his eyes roaming all over her face before landing on her kissable lips. It's a soft kiss, it's warm and comforting and brings back memories that were too painful to ever think about more than a few times a year. She lets him deepen it a little, not enough where it would be considered to inappropriate for a public setting but deep enough that stirred something in her chest.

After holding it for a few seconds she pulls away, just barely out of breath. Her heart beating erratically fast and that's when it hits her. Daniel's heart. Did he even have his heart? She didn't know where her love had come from. Panic arised in her and she felt her hands get sweaty. Daniel who had left to his own inner confusion watched as his love seemed to go through an array of emotions.

Regina swallowed her panic when she sees the slight fear and concern in his eyes, but raises a trembling hand to his chest, right over his heart. Her tense body practically falls to the ground with relief when she feels the steady and strong beat of his heart. He looks confused, but when she presses her lips against his he doesn't hesitate to kiss back.
