A/N:Brief little oneshot about Desiree meeting a little...friend of hers when she's feeling alone.

~Not Alone~

Desiree, the wishing ghost. That's what she was seen as, after all, a mere tool to grant people's wishes, good or bad, and she knew she was not to blame if they went amiss. Humans were such foolish creatures...like usual, Phantom, that mean boy, had imprisoned here in the stupid Thermos and she was stuck, until she heard a soft, ethereal voice drift through her ears...a warm feeling rushed through her then.

"Don't worry, Desiree. I'll save you. You don't deserve this."

Then a bright light overtook her being, and when she opened her red eyes, she found herself in a place she knew better than any other, not the ghost zone, but the place she went to when she was feeling sad and down. She noticed the tiles on the floor, the dolls lining the shelves, and most of all, the element of loneliness that seemed to permeate the area.

"Welcome back, Desiree," That same, soft voice whispered, sounding lonely like always. "I see you're looking well...well, as good as a ghost can be, I suppose."

She saw her, sitting there on her little chair, smiling lightly at her, a ghost of a smile dusting her lips. She wore her white dress like always, with a little bunny doll in her arms, her long white hair falling behind her in waves, illuminating her features like a radiant angel...and her violet eyes are full of unending sadness.

"Thank you...for saving me. That horrid boy trapped me in there again..." Desiree wiped away a few tears from her eyes. "I just wanted to help people with their wishes, and then he turns on me like that!"

The white-haired girl sits up and brushes away her tears with a soft finger. "It's all right, Desiree...those of us who grant wishes...do so at a hefty price. We must bear that pain alone, even if it kills us."

"A-Alice..." She whispers her name.

"My name is Alyss, remember?" Alyss says with a half-smile, still not entirely happy, and Desiree knows she'll never be completely happy. For Alyss's sister, Alice, the chain called B-rabbit, has everything Alyss will never have: a family, friends, a contractor, and even a love interest.

"Alyss...what's been happening?" Desiree whispered. "What of that boy, Oz?"

"He...found out what really happened...100 years ago, and so did Alice. She was always so fragile. I just wanted to protect her, and I truly cared for Jack, but he used me!" Alyss said softly.

"I know how you feel. Men can be so insensitive, but your Oz is different, isn't he?"

"Yes...he was always a devoted rabbit to us, even at the end. He never stopped believing in us. Desiree, it's a lonely position, being able to grant wishes, but in the end, you bring happiness to others, however temporary. Treasure that, and know if they die, it was by their own foolishness." Alyss whispered.

"Yes..." She whispered, "Yes, indeed...you're always right...Alyss."

Alyss chuckled remembering how they had met for the first time so long ago. "Back then, you thought the whole world was against you. But I protected you so many times, and you protected me. I'm sure that Danny boy only wants what's best for his kind."

"But I'm not alone for now..." Desiree whispered. The two of them remained there in silence, simply enjoying each others' company.

That night, Danny could have sworn he had seen a white-haired girl enter his dreams, her soft voice whispering one thing to him: "Be nice to Desiree, she's a lonely spirit, just like I am."
