"We can't lose either one of you for that amount of time; not now. Perhaps in a few months down the line." Tenzin spoke.
"A few months down the line ..." Asami sighed deeply. She barked in low laughter. "Don't kid yourself Master Tenzin. You very well know what we all went through during the rebuilding the first time." Her eyes locked on his stubborn ones. "Korra and I need to take some time away now. By our selves. We need to regroup ourselves ... and what better place but the Spirit World." She rolled her eyes. "After all anyone can pass through those lights easily now with the new portal."
"Asami ..." Korra spoke up. She reached over to place her hand on the raven's haired one clenched on the table. She looked over to meet Tenzin's eyes. "I'm not going to put off this vacation with Asami; Tenzin; I'm not going to shorten the length for any matter." She smiled. "I have been away from Repulic City for three years ... I had been locked behind the compound walls since I was four years old as I was being trained. Repulic City has survived between the time Avatar Aang passed away; and I was old enough to come here. It will survive when I go on vacation."
"Actually Asami; not everyone can pass through those lights. Easily or at all." Tenzin sighed as he calmed down. "Only whom Avatar Korra designs needs the Spirit World the most." He nodded. "I'm sorry that I jumped down your thoarts. You two do deserve a well rested vacation. More so then most any one else." He stood to his feet and bowed. "I'll see you two when you return." With that he walked from the dining room.
Asami and Korra met eyes; then looked back at the open door.
"Okay I didn't expect him to give in that easily." Korra spoke. "I'm honesty concered for him."
Asami eyes softened as felt like Tenzin wasn't blaming her for taking Korra away once more.
"You know he doesn't hard anything against you right 'Sami?" Asami's head turned in Korra's direction at those words. She laughed gently under her breath.
"He's just so used to being my adoptive father ... that he forgets that I'm a fully grown adult now. I may not be up to his father's class as Avatar yet ... but I'm getting there." Korra sighed.
Asami leaned forward and cupped Korra's face in the palms of her hands; "Korra you have no idea of Tenzin's true feelings for you. He wasn't seeing his father when you fell due to the posion ... he honsesty saw one of his own children in that moment. He's just happy that you are back to yourself ... and he'll just miss you when we leave. That he was just tryng to hold onto you was all." Her fingers gently traced Korra's cheekbones.
Korra felt warmth over fill her system.
