Angel's Lament

This must not be;

I will not permit it.

I am your

Complete antithesis.

I am the hunter,

And you are the prey.

In my voice,

Satiny soft,-

Seductive-

There is death and doom.

My porcelain beauty is

Hypnotic to you.

I am a spider,

Luring you into my web.

Yet here you stand,

Unafraid.

You know who

And what

I am…

You accept me,

Knowing the risk to you

And to me.

Because of the love

We each bear the other,

Death is always at your door.

And so I protect you,

Knowing that even though

This should not be,

Any breath drawn without you

Is not worth being drawn.
