Reynauld's End
God has told me not to hate
Hate is too consuming
It over powers good judgment
And reduces a man.
I look at you to find
Some sign of humanity
Something that tells me
You are not without a soul.
But there is nothing there
Except a bottomless pit
No glimmer of anything
For there is nothing to project.
You stand looking at me
You know your time is at an end
And yet you laugh
At what you think is weakness.
But I am not weak
I am anxious to rid my body
Of this sinful emotion
Before it ravages my soul.
I cannot allow you to live
I move quickly and viciously
Without hesitation
And without remorse.
The flesh of your neck
Easily succumbs to the blade
Of my well forged weapon
I watch intently as you falter.
A look of childish surprise
Betrays your previous smirk
As you see your own blood
Dot my shining armor.
As the blood is wiped clean
I turn to other matters
You are no more
And I am done with you.
