Hikari's Point of View
Winter –
I trudged through the snow, concentrating on putting one foot in front of the other. Every so often I would take a wrong step and sink deep into the snow. Sighing in frustration after it had happened for at least the tenth time, I slowly set the goods I was carrying a little ways from then repeated the process of crawling and heaving myself back up.
I found myself retreating deep into my mind while my body kept moving automatically. Taking a glance at my surroundings, I found that I still had quite a ways to go before I reached my makeshift cabin.
"It feels like I've been walking forever…." I whined to no one in particular.
That's it, I give up. I sat in the fluffy snow and pouted. The longer I sat, the more I could feel the cold wetness seep through my clothing. Crossing my arms, I sat thinking. Of course, this was just an excuse so I didn't have to get up again. Amethyst had told me not to call him unless it was an emergency….Couldn't you call this an emergency? I mean, I was stuck in the snow unable to move. Okay, more like "unwilling" to move. But still, without the goods I was carrying, we would starve.
I made my decision.
Digging through my thick clothing, I pulled out my birth stone (an amethyst). Grinning, I rubbed the pretty stone, calling on my Guardian Beast, Amethyst.
Why have you called me child? Hearing the Pegasus' deep voice through my thoughts was always comforting.
I'm kind of stuck. Do you think you could come get me? I asked hopefully.
Silence.
Please? Please, please pleeeeaaase? I begged.
I heard reluctance in his voice as he replied.
Stay there and don't move. I'll be there soon…But this is the last time you're doing this.
Grinning, I thanked him and set the stone necklace back inside my clothing.
Looking up, I was startled to see a huge, white cat burrowing through my food. After regaining myself, annoyance came over me.
"Hey that's mine! Get away!" I yelled, shooing him away.
The beast just stared at me with a look of humor.
"Hmm….you're pretty big for a wild cat. Especially since it's winter." I caught a glint of pure intelligence in his eye that I had only seen with Amethyst.
"Could you be a Guardian Beast?" I asked the creature.
I stared in awe at the sight of another Guardian Beast. Amethyst was the only one I had even seen before. Then I heard the voice of another calling the name "Uri".
Glancing around the giant animal, I saw a girl around my age with striking green eyes and curly red hair. She seemed a bit flustered as if she had been running from something or someone.
"Is this you're Guardian?" I questioned the girl with curiosity.
After hesitating a bit she responded.
"Yes, but how could you tell he was a Guardian?" She questioned, a it surprised.
"Well, Guardians are usually a bit bigger than the average animal. Plus I could see light in, I think you mentioned the named Uri…..in Uri's eyes that I have only ever seen in my Guardian's eyes."
