"I can't stand waiting like this!"
One particular hanyou stood near the well, growing impatient with waiting for Kagome. She had left for her world two days ago. All in order to take exams, and as she said to "Enjoy the luxuries of her time that they didn't have in the feudal world."
He huffed a breath, and growled in irritation. But then, he sighed and frowned. In truth, it wasn't so much that he was impatient with Kagome for the fact that they had things to take care of, what with Naraku wreaking havoc in feudal Japan and the jewel shards being scattered everywhere, but that he was scared really. Each time she would leave, he'd fear that she would never come back. As more time passed, and more memories were created with Kagome, Inuyasha came to need her more and more. Without even realizing it, she slowly healed the wounds of his heart. But then when she'd leave, that fear would envelop his heart, leaving him feeling empty; like something was missing. He truly did need her immensely, she did so much for him. All the time, without even realizing it. In her kindness, he found happiness, and friends even. Friends that he eventually considered his family.
Inuyasha never encountered anyone quite like her ever in his life. She was kind, selfless and strong. Not like the others in his life who thought of only themselves. Nor was she strong like others he had encountered. She didn't posess strength of the body, but within the heart. Her simply being near him, brought him peace of mind. All that she was completed him. Whole, he could even say. She was strong where he was weak, and he reciprocated the strength, being strong where she was weak. They complimented each other incrediably well.
And he was in love with her.
Indeed, Kikyo roamed the earth once more, but in truth, he no longer longed for her. True, he loved her, but he wasn't in love with her. He cared about her deeply, and wished to see Kikyo to rest and to be happy.
A soft smile crossed his face as his gaze turned to the sun and he closed his eyes. He prayed silently that Kagome would stay with him forever, and that nothing, not even fate would take her away from him. That she would always be by his side, and forever be the strength in his heart. Then he could be strong throughout his body, and in turn protect her. Inuyasha promised himself to her, forever and always.
Seconds after he turned his face to the sun, a familar yellow bag rolled out from the well, and a calming scent reached him. He let out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding out.
"Hey! Been waiting for me long?"
Inuyasha turned his golden eyes to her, "Keh! I've been waiting for hours now! What took you so long?"
"I grabbed more supplies like I said I would! You fly through ramen like there's no tomorrow!" She let out a growl all too simialar to his. He was really rubbing off on her. "It's nice to see you too."
"Yeah yeah yeah. C'mon, the others are waiting for us in the village." He said as he picked up her bag.
Unkowing to her, he smiled softly to himself as he walked towards the village. 'It is nice to see you Kagome. Don't ever leave me. I swear it, I'm yours forever and always.'
