Why I Left
This story was inspired by Kansami's "Her Wedding." Story id number: 4660083
How dare she do this to him. An event like this was definitely no way of starting a new clean slate. The love of her life was marrying the man she had always wanted. Forever he had loved her, and he waited for her to stop wanting the... other guy. The other guy had always been his rival, without knowing it at all, he'd bet. His name was Uzumaki Naruto, and he supposed she finally found a way to open his eyes. So why was he, Inuzuka Kiba, attending her lovely little wedding? He had no idea. Especially after their relationship ended!
"Kiba-kun, please!" Teary eyes as she frantically attempts to explain her situation.
Frightening eyes glared back at her, "You expect me to listen to a word you say when you're having heated make out sessions with the boy that wouldn't give you a second glance? Why should I give you any time to explain when it's perfectly clear," through the hatred and anger, you could hear choked back sobs and a broken heart.
She reached out a hand boldly but fearfully pulled it back, "K-Kiba-kun..." she whispered softly.
"Say it... Why did you do it? I know you know," he could no longer look her in the eye and turned away to hid his miserable tears.
The words were already hanging in the air, and one of them would have to grab the phrase and reveal the truth verbally. In a voice quieter than usual, she said, "I still love him."
Now he would have to see the man who tore them apart happily make her his. He was supposed to enjoy this? As he sat in the chapel, waiting impatiently for the wedding to even get started. Tapping his toe, slouching his shoulders, leaning on his knee. You'd think he'd just lost all his money in a drunken poker game. On the happiest day of his once best friend and lover's life he would appear angry, and his acting ability was so good that he fooled himself.
That's when it happened. The organs chimed to announce her entrance.
Lying in the grass with his head in the stars, he thought it was perfect. "What would our wedding day be like?" he asked suddenly, breaking the comfortable silence. The brunette lifted his head to see her face a deep shade of red.
"I- I don't know..." she whispered almost to herself.
Staring at her downward cast face intently, "Would you want to marry me?" Her face grew an even deeper colour, which he thought would be impossible.
"Well... I..."
He cut her off, "You don't have to answer that now," he laughed at her shyness.
The emotion he had evaded then was resurfacing in his stomach now. There was a smile on her face, and she seemed oblivious to his glare. Everyone was happy. Everyone except for him. Inuzuka Kiba was angry, or so he thought... In the pit of his stomach was a knot that was forming; a sniffle was rising to his nose. He was about to cry. Believe it or not, as much as he had tried and thought he succeeded, he still wasn't quite over her. The reason for the tears was simpler than that, a cliche even. He couldn't stand to see her looking so longingly at anyone else, and it killed him.
That is why Inuzuka Kiba left.
Shorter than I wanted it, but I don't want to continue with Hinata finally seeing him, running after him, catching up to him, admitting that she actually loved him big old happy ending (wow! I've changed!) That's just cheesy... Review or not, but review IF you favorite it because I want to check out your profiles and thank you.
