Harry often found himself wondering if his life was worth it. If it was worth the fight. All his life had ever seems to be was fighting and death. He thought about everything he had been through, all the people he had lost and realised how much he missed them – even the people he hadn't met. He sighed miserably, rolling back onto the grass, and looked up at the pale blue sky, trying hard to fight back tears.
"Tough day at the office?" echoed a familiar voice.
Harry shot up and quickly wiped his eyes before anyone could see. He turned to face a man who he had grown very close to over the past year.
"Sirius!" exclaimed Harry who was now beaming from ear to ear. He ran up to him and gave him an almighty hug, like all the emotions he had been bottling up came out into it.
"Long time no see." spoke Sirius calmly.
"Yeah long time no see." said Harry with a slight sad undertone to his voice.
"I couldn't help but notice that you seem a little upset. Anything that I can help with?" Sirius always spoke with such calmness and understanding Harry felt like he could open up to Sirius.
They both walked over to a bench that sat by a stream in the meadow near the Burrow. Harry went there whenever he felt… lost.
"Do you ever feel like your life isn't worth it? Like you're always fighting something that you know will come out stronger in the end? Like your fighting but you have nothing to hold onto?"
Sirius turned to face Harry and gently placed a hand onto his shoulder. He took a deep breath in and paused for a few moments before looking at him directly in the eyes.
"Life isn't easy, and isn't always fair. You out of all people know that Harry. But everything that happens in your life happens for a reason. All these obstacles that you face strengthen you as a person and builds you up for the next time somebody or something tries to knock you down. And you are going to face many more obstacles in your life Harry and the time will come when you have to choose whether to overcome them or be defeated by them. You may feel lost and empty and it's perfectly fine to do so - but I know you, I know that you have to strength to carry on and keep fighting the fight - even if you feel like the power to fight has gone. I know you and I know it's that it's still there." Sirius lifted up his hand an gently pressed it onto Harry's chest.
"Remind yourself of that Harry and promise me that you will never give up even if it seems impossible to do so." Sirius pressed a kiss into his forehead and gave him a warm smile. He stood up from the bench and began to walk away.
"I promise." said Harry softly and looked up at Sirius with tears rolling down his face.
