Here is a little one shot of my favorite shipping :D I came up with this whilst sitting in an English exam. The lyrics Elizabeth are singing are from the song "Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum" from Pirates, those particular lyrics always make me think of Jack and Elizabeth. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it and remember to review as always :D
---------------------------------------------------------------------
"There was chest on chest of Spanish gold
With a ton of plate in the middle hold
And the cabins riot of stuff untold,
And they lay there that took the plum
With sightless glare and their lips struck dumb
While we shared all by the rule of thumb,
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum…"
The rain fell harder but she was alone on the spot she had stood for years. She sang with a broken heart and her voice was cracked and weak. The horizon was but a blur of grey as the rain prevailed so, although she no longer expected what she was waiting for, she hadn't for a long time.
The wind blew so hard atop to cliff, it whistled in her hair. No matter how much the rain fell, she would not be washed of the bitterness of what she was blessed to. But still she waited, everyday. She had begun to hope for no avail, to see the damned sails on the horizon. She couldn't face him now, she did not love him now, but still she waited.
And still the rain came. The sound was deafening as it punched the ground, it rumbled like thunder. Each drop beat her skin near the point of bruising. Her face, neck and chest wet with rain and her hair dripped and flew wildly.
The brocade did not shield her body, instead, weighed her down as the water clung to her dress. A heavy dress complimented a heavy heart.
"More was seen through a stern light screen...
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum.
Chartings undoubt where a woman had been
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum."
These were but slow whispers now, mimed from her lips, but heard by he who loved her. She felt his fingers about her neck. To her skin cooled by the wind and rain, they seemed tepid and loving. He brushed the drops from her shoulders and stroked her damp skin. His fingers closed her parted lips and he sung to her.
"'Twas a flimsy shift on a bunker cot
With a dirk slit sheer through the bosom spot
And the lace stiff dry in a purplish blot
Oh was she wench or some shudderin' maid
That dared the knife and took the blade
By God! she had stuff for a plucky jade
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum."
"Hush now." He said and kissed her cold cheek.
She closed her eyes and felt his breath, and inside she felt warmed. She spun to hold him close. But the rain fell harder and she was alone on the spot she had stood for years. It had taken too long for her to realise, she was waiting for different wicked sails.
