Twilight: Jacob's Songfic
I'd give anything to give me to you
Can you forget the world that you thought you knew
If you want me,
Come and find me
Nothing's stopping you so please release me
Bring... Bring... Bring...
I reach for the phone, hoping that it's Bella.
"Hey, Jake." Bella greets.
My hands start shaking, not because I'm mad, just because I'm so nervous and excited to hear Bella's voice.
"Hi, Bella." I respond, almost too late.
"Can I come over?"
"Sure, right now I'm fixing a Cadillac Hearse in case Edward ends up killing you."
"Come on, you know me well enough that you know I won't put myself in danger."
"Well, actually–-"
"You're right, but he loves me, he wouldn't do that. So, can I come over?"
"Sure."
I hang up the phone and glance around. I realize I'm still wearing the same clothes from yesterday and change into some cleaner jeans and my whitest T-shirt that I haven't ruined with my morphing.
I would do anything for Bella. I think to myself. If only that stupid bloodsucker stayed away from her, I'd have a chance.
"How's it going?" Bella startles me as I was fixing the gas valve.
I come out from under the raised Hearse and smile at her beauty. Normal? She's not normal, she's prettier than those leeches, and she comes without the fangs.
"Great. It should only take me one more day to fix her."
"I wish everyone knew about vampires and werewolves. I wouldn't be so accident-prone."
"Can't you just forget that world?" My, hopefully soon to be our, world is better.
"Because I'm a part of it..." she says, half-joking.
I fix a few more parts of the Cadillac, then ask, "Will you ever give me a chance?"
"What do you mean?" She replies, confused.
"Are you ever going to take the chance of me being with you?"
"Maybe, it just depends on the circumstance, I suppose."
"I need to get some water." I say, running off, trying to hide my disappointment, even though it's too apparent.
She follows me so I run off into the woods, morphing by accident due to my frustration with her.
So much for my shirt, I think. You know what, if she wants me, she can come and find me. Nothing's stopping her from leaving me here.
I wake up, not knowing where I am, then I remember. The forest, the fight.
I hear Bella's angelic voice. It sounds like she's crying.
"Jacob... sniffle sniffle Jacob..."
I see her through the trees. She's soaking wet and isn't even walking straight.
She spots me and runs until she's so close I can feel her body heat.
I'll believe
All your lies
Just pretend you love me
Make believe
Close your eyes
I'll be anything for you
"Jacob, why did you run from me?" She asks, tears streaming down her face. "You're my best friend, why would you hurt me like that?"
Yeah right, the bloodsucker is her best friend.
I didn't respond, so she tries again.
"Why, Jacob? It was just like when Edward left all over again."
"Couldn't you just pretend to love me? Close your eyes, I could be anything you want."
"I couldn't do that because it would be fake and it would end up hurting us both."
She had a point.
"Could you just take me back to my car? It's almost seven."
I look up at the sky, noticing how dark it is.
"Okay."
I pick her up and run her to the red truck.
Nothing left to make me feel anymore
There's only you and everyday I need more
She starts the engine and drives off, while I stare until five minutes after. She's my whole world. I feel empty, gone, nonexistent.
