A mistake

Something that you do on accident

Something that wasn't meant to be done

Something that can be forgiven

Right?

Or is a mistake more than that?

Can you be forgiven?

Or will you be shunned?

Will your family be broken

And their trust in you shattered?

Mom said it wasn't your fault

Dad said anyone could have done it

But you saw

You saw in their eyes what they were feeling

You saw what they saw in you

You saw their shame

Their mistrust

Their disappointment

You tried to get them to understand

Or, at least, you tried to convince yourself that's what you were doing

But you didn't care

Frankly, they were just your parents

And even if you did try to get them to understand

They wouldn't bother with you

The simple thought of you never crossed their minds

The real you

You were the by-product of their highschool years

The thief of their college years

You were a mistake

And you were happy

Because while you had so many mistakes

This time it was their fault

This time

You were their mistake

A/N: Think what you want of it. Say what you want. Make it what you want. Stop by, tell me your thoughts.
