FEAR
Most people spoke of fear as something that hunted and struck just when its prey was the weakest. But she knew fear intimately. It was something she lived with everyday. Never knowing just when the objects of her fear would appear and try to kill her and her sisters.
With a sigh she absently stirred the contents of the pot that was simmering in front of her. She was staring off into the empty air of the kitchen, thinking over all she had learned of fear over the years.
Foot steps sounded, growing louder as they drew close. "Hey, Piper! Is that potion about ready?" called one of her sisters.
Looking up Piper watched as Phoebe entered the kitchen. "Oh." she exclaimed before looking down into the pot. "Yeah."
With a frown Phoebe tilted her head, "What were you thinking about?" she asked.
Lifting an empty potion bottle to be filled Piper shrugged, "Fear." she sighed as she filled the bottle. "What it's all about." she admitted.
Instantly Phoebe's frown turned to a pout as she moved forward, placing her left arm over Piper's shoulders. "Oh, honey. Are you scared of the demon?" she asked.
Rolling her eyes Piper shrugged off Phoebe's arm, "No!" she exclaimed. "I was only thinking of what I thought fear meant to me before and what it means to me now." she explained.
Squinting her eyes Phoebe took the filled bottle from Piper. "What's the difference?" she asked.
Before Piper could respond Paige entered with the Book Of Shadows in her arms. "That potion shouldn't be taking this long to make." she exclaimed when her eyes fell on her sister's standing by the stove.
With a look to Phoebe, Piper smiled. "Paige. What was your greatest fear before you became a witch?" she asked bluntly.
With a frown Paige set at the kitchen table. "It would have to be that I'd never have anything worth having." she said.
With a nod Piper glanced to Phoebe before she looked back to Paige. "… And what is your greatest fear now that you're a Witch?" she asked.
"Stupid questioned!" sighed Paige, "Now I'm scared I'll die at the next demon attack!" she paused and looked between her sister's, "What is this about?" she asked.
After a moments silence Phoebe straightened, "It's doesn't matter!" she groaned as she exited the kitchen.
With a triumphant smile Piper followed her, "You're just mad that I was right!" she called.
Setting for a moment dumbfounded Paige shook her head. Sometimes she hated having come into the family half way through the game! It could be so confusing at times. "Hey!" she called after them, "Could you to stop fighting long enough for us to do this vanquish?" she asked.
Turning to her younger sister Phoebe placed her hands on her hips. "We are not fighting!" she countered before sticking her tongue out at Piper.
Sticking her tongue back out at Phoebe Piper then turned to Paige, "We were having a disagreement that I won!" With that she looked back to Phoebe, "Obviously there is a difference and you know I'm right!"
Before Phoebe could respond A demon appeared behind them all. With one fail turn Phoebe threw the potion at him. Making him burst painfully into flames as she turned back to Piper. "Fine. You win this time." she conceded before she turned and made her way up the stairs to her room.
