Why Me?

Disclaimer: I do not exert any claim to the anime series Sailor Moon. In other words, I do not have any ownership rights to the show.

Author Notes: This is a story that I am dedicating to a wonderful friend of mine who has encouraged me in many different aspects. Yesterday was her birthday, and she seemed a bit down. This will probably do nothing to lift up her mood, but it is the best I can do. Happy Birthday Mel, even though its late. I don't know if you'll even read this, but it is the thought that counts, or so I delude myself. Well, I hope the Birthday Girl and all my readers enjoy.

Summary: While doing homework, a question causes Serena to think about the reasons for certain factors in her life.

The glare of the computer screen burned Serena's eyes as she checked all of the sites that were on the paper that she had been given. She glanced at the time, groaned when she realized that she had already been on Internet for longer than she would have liked, then checked her assignment.

1.) In the process of mitosis, what is the most frequent changing factor? Dust Mites Cells

2.) Who was the first president of the United States of America? George Washead Washington

3.) What do you believe is the reason for everything that happens to you as an individual?

Serena thought about that for a few moments. Why did things happen to her? Why was she Sailor Moon? Why was she the Moon Princess? Why was she such a klutz? Why did everyone hate her? The question unexpectedly brought out a tirade of other questions.

"Why," she asked herself out loud. She thought about all the changes that had taken place in her. She was slightly more self assured, calmer. She felt needed. She had never felt needed before.

Things kept getting harder, though. Why? Then a thought hit her. She was stronger than she was before. She wouldn't have been able to deal with some of the things that she had if she had not first dealt with lesser, yet equally, painful things. Because of the circumstances that tangled themselves painfully in her life, she was growing. Overcoming the obstacles. She picked up her pin and wrote her answer.

Things happen so that people can grow. It is not what happens, but how we react to a problem that will define who we are.

Author Notes: Well, that didn't come out quite like I wanted it too. Its probably the worst present that my friend has ever received, but I tried. As an excuse, I am slightly ill, and the medicine I am on is making me drowsy. Sorry Mel. Thanks for being my friend. Review readers. Tell me I'm not as stupid as I think I am. Well, gota go. BY BY!
