Funny thing about becoming immortal: you have to die first. My progenitor tells me that it's because one has to truly experience death in order to reject it. To be honest, she says a lot of things that make less sense than that, but that may just be because I'm still technically using the 'trial version', so to speak. A trial version that expires in a few universal lifetimes, but a trial nonetheless. As a part of becoming a full immortal, I have to write down my experiences and send them to the Prime Nexus, so people can start making realities out of my story.
Right, that must be a bit confusing, let me explain the basics. Every single story that ever existed, from the most well-written novels to every fevered dream of a deranged madman, is real. They all have their own separate, self-contained reality, and every reality is a story. Well, every reality but one – the Prime Nexus.
The Prime Nexus, known locally as Earth, was the first creation. My progenitor was the one who created it, though she'll tell you that it always existed, she just made it real. Regardless of how she did it; when she did, the Prime Nexus started to spawn other realities. The earliest one I've experienced came from the Ancient Greek Pantheon, though the most impactful one, at least to me, is the one that came from Christianity. Do you know how hard it is to realise that you were right your entire life, but also horribly wrong?
Anyways, as part of my training, I'm sent into pretty much every reality, sans memories for the most part. I live a life all the way through, from birth to death, and these experiences are incorporated into the immortal me. I've been male and female, black and white, straight and gay, rich and poor; pretty much every combination of traits imaginable (and a few that aren't). Hell, I've even been aliens and robots.
My experiences are, for all practical purposes, unlimited, and are becoming more numerous with each passing second/eon. Therefore, I'm going to stick to a few from each major 'food group', as it were. I'm not including my first sojourns into each reality, because I don't have my memories, so they play out exactly the same as they would otherwise. I'll only include a few from my early days, as well, since I didn't really get confident enough to make big deviations until I'd had a few hundred lives under my belt.
Now it's just a matter of finding where to start… Hmm, maybe my first one with memories…
AN: I'm back! I'm going to stay! I accidentally deleted the finished copy of this with the awesome effort author's note, so now I do minimal effort to cover all the basic points.
This is a prologue to a multi-work series I'm gonna call the "Omniverse". It tells the tale of a human-turned-god and his adventures throughout the many realities of fiction.
Big V and Darkest War are offline until I get inspiration on them again. First thing I did today was look over them and try to get some momentum with them, but I just simply couldn't. I originally wrote them on a flight of fancy, so they had no plan for me to pick up from; but I may pick them back up later, as I'm still in love with the idea behind them.
I'm gonna write these chapters at least a week in advance. Gives me a little wiggle room if I want to take it easy for a day. Keep that in mind.
Leave a review. Constructive criticism is always welcome. I do want to get better, despite what my year-long vacation would imply.
See ya!
