Ever since I was a little girl, I knew something was wrong with me.

My strange white hair, my blue eyes… I wasn't normal. Not like all the other kids.

Then, when I first came to school, I did well. Very well. When I became the editor of the school paper that finished the complete package. I was totally a nerd.

Then, well… Adam McTavish joined school. He was in eighth grade, like me, and had stunning brown hair, a perfectly square jaw… You get the picture. He was the only person who could make me spill out my somewhat embarrassing bubbly laugh.

Then Suze came. Perfect brown hair, sparkling eyes… They were perfect for each other.

She made me mad, even if she was my friend. Over time, she made me spill my pretty blood countless times. Until I realised something:
She was a Mediator.

I'd met a girl, once, who was a Mediator. They aren't that uncommon. Her name was Lily. She moved away when we were ten.
Poor little old me.

And then, once I figured she was a Mediator, I met her boyfriend, Jesse.

Happiest day of my life.

Now I'm married to the guy I cut myself over. He knows I'm not normal. Suze isn't normal.

And neither is he.

But it's okay. We can rebuild. We can love.

We can make the baby that now resides in my arms.
