Yusuke lived in a small house that was serene even during the day time. The entry to the home features glass walls and a sunken patio. Light can filter into the house's main room during the day time, it was a beautiful sight to wake up to. His dad seemed to enjoy watching the morning sun rise. It would be hours before anyone would be awake, his father's alarm clock didn't go off until six 'o clock. It wasn't until he heard shifting in the bed across from his did he feel his eyes open to examine what was going on.

In the dark he could make out the outline of his younger brother, Hasukei, pulling his covers back. He watched the smaller boy climb down and make his way over to Yusuke's bed. Yusuke slept in a black tank top and white shorts with a duck pattern on them. He sat up so Hasukei knew he was awake to listen to whatever seemed to be bothering him.

" Yu, I can't sleep…," Hasukei whispered so not to wake their father who like Yusuke was a light sleeper. " Kei, it's late just go to bed. " Yusuke rubbed his eyes.

" But monsters. " Hakusei's bottom lip quivered when he pointed to the closer. Hakusei was not good at making complete sentences yet but Yusuke understood what had his baby brother so spooked. The older boy did not believe in monsters but Hasukei seemed to think there was something hiding in the darkness even though the house was no different at night. Yusuke put his hand on the younger boy's head, messing up his red hair even more.

" There's no such things as monsters, kei. " Yusuke paused giving Hasukei a warm smile. " Even if there were you got me, I'll keep you safe. " Hasukei seemed to be a little calmer at hearing that. But, the small red-headed boy seemed to determined to climb into Yusuke's bed. The dark haired older brother pulled his navy blue comforter back to let his brother lay next to him.

" Now let's sleep before mom comes in here. " The small boy nodded his head, after what felt like an hour it seemed Hasukei was asleep. Yusuke pushed his teddy towards Hasukei to let him hold onto it for courage. " Your big brother won't let anything hurt you. Goodnight. " Yusuke felt himself laying back down, snuggling under the covers, and falling back asleep facing the closet door of their shared room.
