"Well, how about Caitlin or Catherine? They both mean pure."
"Mmm-hmm," Jack mumbled absently, paying little if any attention. He was beginning to happily drift off again for probably the third time since this conversation had begun.
"Jack." Sam jabbed him hard in the side to bring him sharply back to reality. "This is important, yet you haven't said anything so far except 'mmm-hmm' and 'mmm.'"
He barely refrained from rolling his eyes. "Well, what do you want me to say?"
Sam's eyes narrowed marginally. "Just throw in a few ideas. What do you think her name should be?"
He sighed. "I don't know." He caught a glimpse of a calendar out of the corner of his eye. "How about… April."
Sam appeared to contemplate the idea for a minute before her eyes narrowed and she planted her fists on her hips. "Jack."
"What?!"
"April? April O'Neill? This is not Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!"
Jack tried and failed miserably to suppress a chuckle. "Oh. I thought that sounded oddly familiar." He grinned. "April O'Neill..."
Sam glared. "No."
"C'mon. It'd be great."
"No. Not to my girl."
Sighing, Jack rolled his eyes. "Oh, for crying out loud, Sam. It's a puppy..."
