Author's note = I don't own Harry Potter. I wish I did, though. IT'S BRILLIANT!
Luna's Story
It was a nice, sunny day. But, despite the great weather, Luna Lovegood was sobbing. She couldn't stop crying. Her mother had died just two days ago. What a horrible time for my mother to die, Luna thought sadly, I'm just about to turn ten. Her birthday was a week away. She felt terrible, and she completely forgot her excitement about going to Hogwarts the year after next. She finally sobbed until nighttime, when she cried herself to sleep.
A week later...
Luna was bursting with joy. It's my birthday, birthday, birthday, Luna sang in her head happily. Although Luna's mother had died a week ago, she couldn't have felt better. "Dad! Come on, it's time for cake," Luna shouted upstairs to her father. "But Luna, dear! I just have to finish this story on Crumple-Horn Snorkacks," Luna's dad replied. Xenophilius Lovegood was the editor and (sometimes) writer for the Quibbler, an extremely fascinating newspaper in Luna's opinion. Most people think the Quibbler is rubbish, trash, garbage. Luna sighed, then yelled, "But, Dad, it's my birthday! We are going to hunt for Thestrals!" Luna could hear her father running down the stairs, and she smiled.
A year later...
"Dad! It's here! It's actually, finally here," Luna yelled to her father. She holding her Hogwarts letter, which had just came in the mail. Luna was jumping up and down with joy. She bumped into furniture, but she didn't care. She was so excited she felt like she was going to pass out. I must be the happiest person in the world right now, Luna thought. I must be, who else is bumping into furniture with joy? She laughed and laughed. Right now, not even hunting for Crumple-Horn Snorkacks or feeding Thesrals would make her as happy as this. I'm going to Hogwarts, Hogwarts, I'm going to Hogwarts, Luna sang dreamily. The best years of her life were just about to start.
