This story is in Silver's POV. Enjoy.
Disclaimer: the last time I checked I didn't own pokemon, but let me check again…Nope.

Being sweet and encouraging is not my thing; normally I would get stronger by training for hours on end, and scolding my pokemon until they get it right. However, I'm getting desperate. Lyra, is the only trainer able to beat me, no matter how much I yell at my pokemon she still creams me. I don't get it. She yells too, but she yells things like, "Well done!" and, "You're doing great!" It makes me want to puke.
Now I feel silly trying to get my feraligatr to perfect Aqua Tail, his tail begins to glow, the water starts to swirl around his tail, "Now feraligatr, use aqua tail on that rock!" He swings his tail and hits the rock; I go and inspect it, not a scratch. I want to scream, and hit him, but instead I put on a sugar coated smile and say, "Great job, you tried your hardest, I know you can do it next time!" He looks confused, he's probably wondering what happened to me, he starts to sniff me to make sure I'm still the same person who stole him from Professor Elm. I sigh, if I ever have to smile again I'm going to explode, "Just rest for a moment," I say and return it to his pokeball.
I can't do it, this style of training goes against everything I've ever done, I decide to go back to how I normally train, the real reason I'm not winning must be because I'm not tough enough, I'll have to put my pokemon through intense training, shorter breaks and more battling. I'm about to send my pokemon back out to begin my new method of training when my pokegear starts to ring. I look at the caller ID, its Lyra. I wonder what the pigtailed wonder wants to tell me so I pick it up.
"Hello, Ethan?" she says, I roll my eyes this call is not for me but for her annoying boyfriend, she must have dialed me by mistake, I'm about to tell her she has called the wrong number but she keeps talking, "I understand you don't want to talk to me right now but I need to explain why I broke up with you."
Wait, they broke up? I continue to listen although I know it's wrong, but when have I cared about doing the right thing? "You left in such a hurry last night so I didn't get a chance to tell you, just hear me out okay? I want you to understand." I'm curious now, Ethan and Lyra have been friends for ever they used to play together when they were babies, they've been dating for a year now what happened? I continue to eavesdrop.
"There is another guy, I met him a year ago but I've fallen for him, he is so kind and caring," figures she would like someone like that, "we didn't always see eye to eye but he is just so sweet. He is an amazing pokemon trainer; he even has a shot at beating me and becoming champion. You probably want to know his name," well yes I do, "I'm sorry I dated you when I was in love with someone else I was just confused and I didn't think he liked me back," come on, I want to know who this mystery man is, "Don't be mad but his name is Silver."
I almost drop the phone, me kind, caring, sweet? She thinks I'm kind, caring, and sweet, I can't believe it, but she really does, I smile and I don't explode, "Ethan?" she says again.
"Wrong number," I say into the phone.
"Wait what?" she says confused and starts to recognize my voice.
Then I hang up and I release feraligatr from his pokeball, "Okay we are going to try this one more time, "Use Aqua Tail!" I don't look; I know that rock will be smashed to smithereens, because anything is possible, now that I'm kind, caring, and sweet. I may even win a battle against Lyra, my pokegear starts to ring again, this time I'm positive she doesn't have the wrong number.
