11:50pm
A figure groaned from under a colourful duvet. Blonde hair stuck out everywhere in every direction.
.
11:52pm
A dark silhouette looked up from his paperwork. His grandfather clock ticked endlessly. Soon it would be tomorrow…
.
11:54
Still the blonde hair stuck out in all directions. A light snore emanated from within. A masculine hand fell and hung, hanging limply and peeking from the duvet.
.
11:56
A black strand of hair fell into his eyes. An irritated look passed across his features and he flicked it away with much less masculine hands. He didn't need to look at the clock to tell it was almost tomorrow… He would NOT care.
Definitely.
.
11:58
Still the blonde slept.
.
11:59
A large office. A desk mounted with paperwork. A lone boy staring immensely at a blank page in front of him. Do not think of that herbivore. Do not think…
5 seconds till tomorrow.

Hibari's hand shot out, grabbing the phone in front of him. He pulled it towards him and keyed in the number automatically, not even needing to think about it. He held the phone to his ear and breathed out. Mist escaped from his mouth. The office was cold.

...
The grandfather clock chimed, welcoming the new day. Still hidden in the darkness of night, Hibari came to his senses. Why was he holding…?
...
12:00
RING RING RING I'll bite you to death RING RING RING
Dino's phone went off next to his head, his special ringtone that he'd recorded himself, without Hibari knowing, going off endlessly. The limp hand sprung to life. Plucking the phone from his pile of clothes he immediately stuffed it to his ear.
"Kyoya?"
DAMN IT
Hibari was silent. Why had he rung this… this herbivore! Well, he knew why but tomorrow – or rather today - was still just another day. No matter – "Happy Birthday Herbivore"
– No matter whose birthday it was.
A grin lit up from the mess of hair sticking out. Dino laughed as he turned and looked up at the ceiling, high above him. "So you remembered!"
"How could I not with you sending text after text to me"
"Haha! True! ... So how is my little bird?"
"I'll bite you to death"
"Is that my present?"
Silence.
"Kyoya?"
The phone clicked as Hibari hung up.
Dino smiled, sighed, and rolled over. The gruff tone of Kyoya lingering in his ears.
.
12:27
Hibari stared at the door in front of him. Somehow he'd ended up in front of it… of HIS. He turned the door handle that he'd unconsciously put his hand on. And opened the door. The stupid herbivore always forgot to lock the damned door. Quietly he moved to the bed and sat on the edge of it.
He leaned over and whispered in the blonde's ear.
"… Happy Birthday Dino"
Dino turned, wide awake the moment he heard the door open, and grinned his own special grin. He held out his arms and waited for his favourite human to fall into them.
Yes it was a very happy birthday.
And suddenly Hibari Kyoya was warm.
