I wrote this a while back and finally decided to post it. It's very short, but I hope you enjoy it.

"You're a worthless piece of shit!"
Johnny's dad was beating and screaming horrible things at him. This was nothing new at the Cade household. This happened almost every other night. Johnny's dad would get drunk and start beating him, while his mom watched and did nothing to stop it.
"Get up!" Johnny's dad screamed at him.
Johnny was laying in the floor, trying to catch his breath. He tried pulling himself up, but he just didn't have the strength.
"I said get up!" he screamed again.
After much work, Johnny picked himself up off the floor. His dad grabbed him by the shirt collar and got up in his face.
"I wish you were never born," he said to him.
The words stabbed Johnny like a thousand knives. Why? Why couldn't his parents ever love him? What did he do? From what he knew, he hadn't done anything. Maybe it was the fact that he was there. He was born an unwanted child.
"Get out!" Johnny's dad yelled at him. "I don't want to see you back here!" He shoved Johnny out the door.
Johnny, still standing, doubled over from the pain he was feeling. The beating he recieved was a bad one, but it didn't come close to comparing to the pain he felt in his heart. Why did he care so much about earning his parents love? The way they treated him, he should hate their guts, but they were his parents. No matter what they did, no matter how bad they treated him, he would still love them.
He always found it better when he was being beat. Atleast they knew he was there. When he wasn't being kicked around, they barely noticed he was there. That, or they either chose to pretend he was wasn't.
The only people that treated him like family, the only people that truly cared for him, was the gang. He could always count on them to be there for him. He spent most of his time hanging out with them at the Curtis' home. His parents might not have cared about him, but the gang always did.
After a moment, Johnny straightened himself up and smoothed out his clothes. He was going to the only place that felt like home to him, the place where his true family was, the place where he was wanted. That place was the Curtis' home.
Review please.
